By the way,[島]can be pronounced[TOU]or[SHIMA]or[JIMA]in Japan.And normally 硫黄島 have been pronounced [IWOTOU] since that island was discoverd and named.I don`t know why American pronounce it [IWOJIMA].

Its a great film, this film is like the All Quiet on the Western Front of 2006. I think there should be more war films about the opposite side so we can see the whole cycle of war.

and just to set the record straight, many of the japanese soldiers didnt really want to fight and be hateful towards other countries, but were forced to because of people higher than them such as the military and the emperor himself. it wasnt their decision to do what they did, but the decision of others with power.
