the shaft could have been round and smooth. have you ever looked at a pebble before? there round and smooth.. the shaft doesnt have to be completely round, or round at all.. and besides, what does the shape of the shaft have to do with anything..? just as long as its small enough to only let the stone altar out.. the new journey to the center of the earth was complete bull shit. it ruined the book..

have you ever realized that its a book? actually, in some terms, they would have lived with the right conditions. Jules Verne is too underestimated.. he was one of the greatest authors of all time, and now no one knows his name.. its all about J.K. Rowling. she is an extremely good author, and her books are fantastic, i just dont think of her as one of the greatest authors..

Actually, I think in the original version a fairy told Jack that everything the giant owned was really his late father's. His father had been slain by the giant, and Jack was to get revenge and take back all that is his. So, he wasn't exactly a thief, but there's still a bit of violence at the end. But...that made y'all feel better, right? =D

This is my 2nd fav childhood movie ever. Only because Labyrinth was my childhood one. I am very lucky to have this movie on dvd. I just holds so many childhood memories.

In this promo, they left out any reference to the "Indians" and their leader "Tiger Lily" played by Sondra Lee. Politically incorrect, perhaps. Still a perennial story - one that I will always love.
