you missed the point. it wasnt a film ABOUT bob dylan in that it wasnt a biopic. it was a film INSPIRED by bob dylan: a man who has transcended his proffession to impact hugely on popular culture and who adapted effortlessly to the age he was in, always changing. In this way Tod Haynes used dylan as a dramatic device by way of making a film about IDENTITY. we all see so much of dylan but who really knows him? does he really know himself? do we know ourselves or each other? hope this helps.

This was a great ...
This was a great idea for a film but ultimatly labours under its own weight. Too much focus on Dylans Blonde on Blonde period- although Blanchett is brilliant- one thing really niggled me was the over use of the intro to long black coat. With Dylans wealth of songs they could have found other stuff. I wonder what Dylan thought of it. Pretenous crap maybe? It must be scary to see yourself portrayed how people think you are or even hillarius if they get it wrong.
