Seriously, to simulate gun recoil, they shook the weaponry when using it in scenes) Heavenly Creatures, Foreskin's Lament (every productions of it ever made) The Piano, Scarfies, The Scarecrow - We churn out stuff that RIVALS Hollywood blockbusters looking at the size of our country.

Anchor Bay have it ...
Anchor Bay have it on Region 1 DVD in a truly beautiful silvered Steelbook (with a neat little booklet containing an essay on the film and various great stills), and Madman have just put out a Region 0 version. Both have the 2-30 version of the NZ trailer and a commentary by the producer. There's an earlier Region 0 DVD, but it lacks extras and has a really shitty optical soundtrack. Given that TQE was a groundbreaker in terms of high-quality stereo sound for a NZ film, it's shameful.

I don't think it's available on VHS anymore. I think it's sold on DVD in this country, but i've no idea who would still stock it. If you really wanted a copy; the best thing would be to go to a library and hopefully someone will know someone who could get it from the U.K.

This film was the most bizzare film I have ever seen. The end is definately something that has to be seen to be believed. I love movies that leave things open to discussion and interpretation.

I dont think alot of people understood what happened at the end so it split peoples opinions. I loved the music at the end of this... Another recommended film with Bruno Lawrence in the lead is "Smash Palace"
