I agree, The sequels made him a joke. I like this film and think this combined to the original would be great but in the first place I think they should've left the original to be the only. I think Freddy's quite unique character amongst the twisted in films. He should not have been explained & made into a joke on the side. Though I think the basic storyline of Freddy's is good but as said, he's the kind of a character that is best with no bakground told. Like Hannibal Lecter used to be.
