all the junior ...
all the junior thugs and granny bashers here in Central Scotland take acid and shrooms. It's practically a rite of passage. Some of them end up in psychiatric hospital, but only after a lot of substance abuse. Most go on to lead normal criminal lives without any apparant rise in consciousness or any such high ideals. They consider intellectualism, higher consciousness, spirtuality and any such talk as insane and homosexual.

Many people snicker ...
Many people snicker at this film, but I watched it late at night when I was a kid...and it was a pretty creepy flick. It's based on the W. H. Hodgson story "A Voice In The Night" and even as an adult, it's pretty atmospheric. The Mushroom People look silly, but you don't see a lot of them. Also...when I was a kid...I sort of thought of the shipwrecked crew as a Japanese version of the crew of the Minnow. There's the Asian versions of Ginger, The Professor, Skipper and all the rest.
