It's a complicated situation. As far as I've understood, there are many factions fighting in Northern Uganda and the surrounding area. Think of it as something like civil strife, very confusing civil war. Invisible Children is concerned mostly with the Lord's Resistance Army, which is a group of guerilla fighters lead by a man named Joseph Kony. The LRA kidnaps these children, many of them, and teaches them to kill, among other countless atrocities. :/

Try to understand that it's not that simple. They are very, very young and subjected to sights that we can not imagine. Other children are slaughtered in front of them, and they're told that if they do anything - even cry, because crying is seen as a sign that they are thinking of home, and escape - then the same terrible death will happen to them. Think of what it is like to be a child, what children are like, and seeing that. It is terrifying, and mind bending.

They are armed with automatic weapons. Not defenseless. I don't see why one of the kids tries to get close to the guy and take him out. Even though the kid will get killed by the guards after, it would be worth it. One life to save 1,000's.

Hahaha......you have no idea. I watched it....it's fucking AMAZING. I have NO IDEA how the producers and directors filmed kids doing this, but it is goddamn revolutionary. I'd say it competes with the omen, which was also "fucking sad" and probably pretty "wrong". I get where you're coming from, but hey. What's done is done, and I'm sure they didn't traumatize them. I think it was probably the most fucked up thing I've seen, but it's also a bloody masterpiece. Exploitation ftw?
