Gents ... this is DRAMA, not history. Robert Ardrey's screenplay (nominated for an Oscar) is about narcissistic men (The Mahdi and Gordon) who are very alike except for one thing: one will sacrifice himself for others whilst the other sacrifices others for himself. It's great drama. Gordon and Ahmad never met, but it's DRAMA and works symbolically. Those great tent scenes with Larry and Chuck were based on Richard I and Saladin, who never met either. And Frank Cordell's great music.

Se ci fossero piu' persone che pensano al prossimo la terra non sarebbe cosi' piena di problemi. l'egoismo fa male come l'invidia e diffamare coloro di cui vorremmo prendere il posto! tutti dovremmo preoccuparci per gli altri e staremmo tutti meglio. so' che per qualcuno e' strano,ma di gente piena di amore su' questa terra ne esiste ancora per fortuna!
