the "Beauty ...
the "Beauty Everywhere" sequence was originally filmed w/ James Melton, Astaire, Cyd Charisse, and Lucille Bremer (the bubble machine overflowed!! and they had to refilm it w/ Kathryn Grayson). Lena Horne also performed a number to "Liza" w/ BWay star Avon Long but it was cut. Supposedly Garland and Mickey Rooney pre-recorded a number but it never was filmed.

Two years in the making (FINALLY released in 1946)- and I'd still like to see the "Baby Snooks" sequence Fanny Brice appeared in before it was cut from the final release print!

Vegas has adopted that whole look and feel of Ziegfeld. There are few places left on earth that put on shows like that. Rio during carneval time also puts on great shows in this genre.
