  should you choose to accept it, involves the recovery of a stolen
  item designated "Chimera." You may select any two team members, but

  Nordoff-Hall. She is a civilian, and a highly capable professional
  thief. You have forty-eight hours to recruit Miss Hall and meet me
  in Seville to receive your assignment. As always, should any member

[Mr. Briggs starts a reel-to-reel tape player as a black-and-white
  film is projected on the movie theaters screen]
Voice on Tape: Good evening, Mr. Briggs. This is Anton Cardinal
  Vossek who, despite being 80 years of age and physically infirm, is
  nonetheless the acknowledged leader of his countrys freedom
  movement. The government torts whose overthrow Cardinal Vossek is
  working has arrested him, preparatory to a trial before a peoples
  court which is certain to convict him. Hes being held for
  interrogation on the top floor of this building: Seravno prison,
  which is located immediately adjacent to the citys main park.
  Seravno prison is considered the most impregnable in Eastern
  Europe. No escape has ever been made from it. Mr. Briggs, your
  mission - should you decide to accept it - would be to rescue
  Cardinal Vossek. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be

[Mr. Briggs removes the tape reel from the player and drops it into a
  copper ashtray with a red substance in it. The tape suddenly bursts
  into flames]

  car in a lot, unlocks it with a key from his pocket, and plays an
  unlabeled 8-track tape he finds in the locked glove compartment
  with a manila envelope containing four photos. A clock strikes 6

Voice on Tape: Good morning, Mr. Briggs. This man is Imre Rogosh,
  known to us as The Monster. His specialty is mass murder in order
  to create political anarchy. Here is some samples of his work:
  North Africa, Bombay, Rio de Janeiro. Yesterday, Rogosh was
  discovered to be in Los Angeles for a week. Hes bought airline
  tickets home for tomorrow night. Considering Rogoshs history, the
  Secretary believes that thousands in the Los Angeles area might die
  if Rogoshs plan is not discovered and countered. Dan, our experts
  consider Rogosh unbreakable by any known means. Nevertheless, your
  mission - should you decide to accept - would be to break Rogosh,
  fast. Please destroy this recording by the usual method.
[Mr. Briggs ejects the tape and throws it into a nearby operating
  incinerator, keeping the envelope]

Mission recording voice: Good morning, Mr. Briggs. General Rio
  Dominguez, the dictator of Santa Costa, makes his headquarters in
  the Hotel Nacionale. Weve learned that two nuclear warheads
  furnished to Santa Costa by an enemy power are contained in the
  hotel vault. Their use is imminent. Mr. Briggs, your mission,
  should you decide to accept it, would be to remove both nuclear
  devices from Santa Costa. As always, you have carte blanche as to
  method and personnel, but of course should you or any member of

  codename for a deadly weapon, otherwise it could just be some very
  expensive bunny appendage.

Luther Stickell: Well then Im smarter than you.
Declan: I agree with Luther; we cant have real relationships, but

[Ethan rolls his eyes]
