I'm fourteen, and I thought this movie did for me in this version. But sadly, I am one of a thousand kids who actually would find to be so. I think it's so chilling because it's in black and white. It's so dark, but there's real light. Not like crappy scary movies now. All of it is dark and you can't see anything worth shit.

this scared the living shite outa me. the best ghost-film ever made. a billion times better than the complete shit we have now(saw,hostel,hills have eyes) directors have their heads up their arses when it comes to scary films today. this is a genuine masterpiece of spookyness. im 30 and this still scares the shit outa me!!!! the remake is laughed at compaired to this. the haunting.(1963) poltergiest. angel heart. the shining. are my favorite scary films.

wow ,no man ,it's not stupid lame or boring ,it's much better than de bont's movie,CGI and special effects don't make a movie better,the 63 version is orthodox and creepyer because its black and white,but sure there are much much better movies,ichi the killer,fight club,bava's black sunday,the city of the living dead,evil dead,ju-on,price movies,angel heart,the exorcist 3 ^^ and so much more,i just don't agree with you that's all ...what do you like then ?
